Scorecard and Pro Tips
Lakes--Front 9
- Down hill par 4. Aim at the big rock on the right side, the fairway slopes from right to left. 200 yards off the tee is all you need to be in good position to hit the green in regulation. Big hitters can go for the green off the tee, but water is in play on the left.
- Up hill par 4. Hit your tee shot at the bunker or carry the waste area to set yourself up to hit the green in regulation. The green is long, so be sure to check the GPS when selecting a club for the approach.
- A reachable par 5 from the white tees. Accuracy is a must. Hit your tee shot short of the grass canyon or carry the grass canyon. Lay up to the right side of the fairway. Another long green so check the GPS.
- Beautiful par 3. Avoid the water on the right and the large bunker on the left. Best play is the center of the green.
- Challenging down hill par 4. Keep your tee shot in the fairway on this hole. Long hitters can reach trouble from the white tees, so club back as needed.
- Keep driver in the bag. Aim down the left side of the fairway. Green slopes from back to front, so it’s best not to go long our your approach.
- Long challenging par 5. Most play as a three shot hole, so stay short of the big tree. Lay up 100 yards short of the canyon so you can hit the green in regulation. If the pin is on the right, you can hit beyond the hole and it will feed back.
- Difficult par 3. Make sure you have enough club to carry the canyon short of the green. There are three tiers, so you want to get it on the correct one.
- Long hitters keep you driver in the bag, as you can reach trouble with a big tee shot. Best to approach the green from left side of the fairway.
Desert--Back 9
- Short down hill par 5. Play your tee shot down the left side of the fairway, this will give you a good look at the green. If the pin in the right and you’re going in 2, you may want to aim at the left side of the green.
- Need not use driver, most use an iron from the White tees. Aim tee shot down the middle of the fairway, or even at the ladies green on the left. Stay away from the canyon on right. The green has two tiers, make sure you check the GPS for your approach.
- Be careful of the waste areas long and left off the tee. Much more room to miss on the right. Narrow green and tough uphill approach, so aim for the middle.
- Long up hill par 4. Keep your tee shot down the middle left side of the fairway. Another tiered green but if the pin is on the left, it’s best to aim for the middle.
- Down hill par 3. Make sure you have enough club. If the pin is front or back, it’s best to miss short. Over the green can actually go out of bounds.
- Monster par 5. Longest hole on the course. Accuracy off the tee is a must. In spite of this long hitters may need less than driver from the White tees to avoid the trouble. This hole requires 3 good shots to reach the green in regulation. You can’t miss long or left on the approach.
- Avoid green side bunkers. Keep your ball on the same tier as the pin. If the pin is front left, you need to land beyond the hole and it will spin back.
- Technically a dogleg left, but aim down the middle of the fairway. Long hitters should take less than driver from the White tees. Flirting with the left side may result in a lost ball. Don’t go long or left on your approach.
- Tough par 4. Stay down the middle on this hole. Make sure you have enough club to clear the canyon on your approach shot. Much better to be long than short.
